And here we go! Second term is started his way. I feel very lucky because I am doing branding project in collaboration with why not associates agency. This monday we had our briefing session with Gustavo and Paul. Gustavo is a representative of why not associates, He is successful graduate of LCC. To be honest I was thinking that we will do a proper banding for some kind of a product or a company. But it appeared more complicated than I sought. I really do believe that RE-Branding is very insecure thing and you are taking a huge responsibility on your shoulders by doing it. Some might disagree with me but this is my point. However I am not complaining moreover I am glad because I've done a lot of things while I was working in agency at home but I've never done any re-branding projects. So we'll se what will be my result. And for now I wanted to share my project brief here with you guys.
The Brief
You will have to choose one company to re-brand. After some research into the type of
company you select, you must choose an existing company to re-brand. You will determine aclear and relative identity based upon your research and analysis before developing the new brand guidelines.
Steps
> You are to research one of the following types of company to seek out one existing
company/brand, which you feel requires a re-brand:
- Furniture Company
- Post-production company
- Location/Area/Building
- Cultural Retail Outlet
- Film Company
- Arts funding organization
You will be asked to provide a clear rationale for your choice of company to re-brand.
> Identify a clear identity for the company.
> Develop a new set of brand guidelines, clearly outlining the correct usage of the identity
across relevant media.
Deliverables:
15 – 20 page PDF Branding Guidelines document containing the following information:
- Rationale explaining why you choose a particular company for a re-brand using visual
analysis.
- Visual representation of the company’s identity
- Clear explanation of the new branding guidelines
- Examples of the branding applied to the relevant media, which you will also identify.
Minimums:
- Identifying mark for your company
- Do’s and Don’ts when applying the visual elements (logo, type, image, colour)
- One application of the re-brand
Ultimately this PDF should be something you would give to anybody who has to produce
design for this brand after you. It should ensure consistency to the brand. Therefore the
design and clarity of your PDF is very important so ensure this is considered and appropriate
for the type of content your are presenting.
Saatchi gallery became my choice for to be re-branded company. Currently I am doing my research and as more as I am getting involved in that subject as more I like it. Very looking forward for my final outcome.
